Langara Island Lodge

We just returned from our trip up to Langara, and we had an incredible time! The staff was professional and extremely welcoming, the lodging was perfect, and the food was top notch. If you're looking to fish on your own schedule without worrying about set meal times, this is the place! We were fortunate enough to have Andrew Black as our guide, and I don't think we could have lucked out more. He is super knowledgable, professional and is a great time on the boat. If you can get Andrew as a guide, you'll have a great time. I Highly recommend LIL overall!

If you’re thinking about going, just book it. It was the most amazing experience you could imagine. CJ, our guide made the entire trip. From the laughs to all the fish we caught, he was awesome. We stayed in the Chinook lodge as a 3 person party. The food is top notch and the service is impeccable. The logistics of getting you there was so smooth, the only thing you need to worry about is picking what you want for dinner. They even deliver donuts to your fishing boat. All in all, well worth the price tag. It is the best fishing trip you could dream of.

This was my third trip to Langara, and not my last! You should have included a rating for food which was the best ever! We all met our quota and had an extra day to chill and enjoy the lodge! ( please get new mattresses and pillows for next season …everyone needed massages ) Can’t wait to return and make CJ crazy with an all girl boat!

I just returned from an unforgettable trip to Langara Island Fishing Lodge and can’t say enough good things! As a beginner to guided fishing, I wasn’t sure what to expect but from the moment we arrived (by helicopter, which was such a cool start), the entire experience was seamless, supportive, and so much fun. Our guide was incredibly patient and knowledgeable, and by the end of the trip I felt like I truly got the hang of it plus we caught some amazing fish! The lodge itself is beautiful, warm, and inviting. The food is honestly 5-star multicoursed and every meal felt like dining at a top restaurant, with beautifully plated dishes and a great wine selection to match. Whether you’re coming off the water or winding down in the spa, the service was top-notch the entire time. One of the things I loved most was the atmosphere it’s a great setting to meet people from all over the world. Whether chatting over breakfast, sharing stories in the lounge after a day on the water, or relaxing in the hot tub, there’s a real sense of community here. It was the perfect mix of adventure, luxury, and connection. Highly recommend especially if you’re new to fishing and want to dive into something new in a beautiful, welcoming setting! The boats even have bathrooms on board so you don’t have to trek in every time nature calls. I will be coming back here hopefully once a year with my family! Love this trip so much.

Many years ago a friend invited me to Langara Island Lodge. He had been going to this lodge for many years and he wanted me to experience it. I asked him why he chose this fishing lodge above all of the other lodges on the west coast of Canada. His answer was, "in my opinion, LIL is quite simply the best fishing lodge on the west coast." Since my first visit, I have visited LIL 14 times over the past 30 years. I now know that my friend was correct in his description. It is the best fishing lodge on the west coast. Each trip seems to be more memorable than the last trip. I have travelled to this lodge with my family and friends and we all have stories to share with each other about their trip. The hallmark of a well managed lodge is being able to consistently replicate the same quality of experience year over year. Langara Fishing Adventures knows how to do that. The flights from Vancouver to the lodge, the staff, the boats and equipment and the dining experiences are outstanding. Our favourite is the breakfast zodiac boat and the breakfast burritos! On top of that, the scenery, the wildlife and the fishing are spectacular. If you are looking for an amazing experience (not just a fishing trip) then LIL is the place for you. I really enjoyed my stay and the constant care and service supplied by the staff at Langara Island lodge. I was a complete newcomer to ocean fishing and “CJ” was a great and efficient guide. His knowledge of marine life and our surroundings was very educational.

Fantastic experience all round. Great facilities, staff and food. Amazing fishing. Can not fault it.

Stayed at the Raven Cottage. Overall it’s a 5 Star experience. From the moment you catch the helicopter to the lodge. The staff are extremely friendly. The food was out of this world. The cottage was always fully stocked with snacks and food, as well as other amenities you might need like Advil, sunscreen, and hand warmers. The bar in the cottage had a wide variety of alcohol. The fishing is absolutely out of this world. The two guides we had on this trip were outstanding. We caught our quotas of salmon, cod and halibut as well as soon lots of whales and sea lions. The area itself is stunning.
